Laundry space inside Atlanta city limits ranges from a basement corner in a 1920s bungalow to a hallway closet in a Midtown condo. That changes which washers we see: plenty of stacked washer-dryer pairs, 24-inch front-loaders and all-in-one units, alongside full-size machines in the suburbs. Our technicians work on all of them.
Our technicians leave from the Henderson Mill Road NE office and often arrive the same day. You pay an $80 diagnostic that is credited toward the repair, and standard-brand washer repairs start from $180 plus parts, quoted in writing first. Our main washing machine repair page lists every part we commonly replace.

Closets, basements and soft city water
In a high-rise, a washer leak is the most expensive kind of appliance failure, because water travels to the unit below. Stacked units in closets are also hard to reach: the dryer usually has to come off or slide out before we can get to the washer's pump or door boot. We bring the tools for that, and we ask you to clear the closet before we arrive so the job goes faster.
Older in-town houses in neighborhoods such as Virginia-Highland, where most homes date from 1905 to 1936, often have laundry added later in a basement or a converted back porch. Uneven floors in those spots are a frequent cause of walking and banging during spin.
The City of Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management says its weekly tests show low calcium and magnesium in city water. Soft water foams detergent easily, so the same scoop that worked elsewhere can oversuds a front-loader here, leaving residue, odors and error codes.
Common washer problems we fix in Atlanta
Water left in the drum
Most often a clogged pump filter or a sock lodged in the pump. In a stacked unit we check the drain hose behind the pair, which can kink when the stack is pushed back against the wall.
Suds, smell and residue
Usually too much detergent for soft water, or a non-HE detergent in an HE machine. We clear the problem and show you how much to use, then check the door boot and drain for buildup.
Leak through the ceiling below
In a condo, shut off the washer's supply valves and call. We look at fill hoses, the door boot, the pump and the tub seal, and we never leave a leak-prone hose in place.
Banging during spin
Uneven old floors, worn shock absorbers or suspension springs, or shipping bolts left in after a move are the usual causes on front-loaders.
Basement washer in an older house won't drain
Some in-town basements drain into a laundry sink or a standpipe that was added decades ago. If the standpipe is too short or partly clogged, the washer can siphon or back up. We test the pump and tell you if the house drain is the real limit.

My Samsung fridge was making this annoying buzzing sound for weeks. Oleg checked it out and found what was causing it. So much quieter now.
They repaired our refrigerator ice maker. Simple process from booking the appointment to getting it fixed. Would definitely use Mr. Fixer again.
My dishwasher just randomly stopped turning on. Dan came by, diagnosed it and explained my options without any pressure. Ended up getting it repaired and I’m glad I did.
Washer Repair in Atlanta: FAQs
Can you repair a stacked washer-dryer in a small Atlanta condo closet?
Yes. We separate or slide the units when needed. Please clear the hallway and closet and let building management know about the visit.
Is Atlanta tap water hard enough to damage my washer?
The city reports low calcium and magnesium levels, so scale is rarely the main issue. Oversudsing from too much detergent is a more common problem with soft water.
Do you fix 24-inch and all-in-one washers?
We work on most major-brand 24-inch front-load and combination units. Mention the model when you call (678) 866-3669 so we can check parts availability.
