Frigidaire is one of the most common names in Atlanta kitchens, from apartment ranges to Gallery and Professional refrigerators in newer homes. That popularity means we see the same handful of failures again and again, and we know which parts usually cause them.
Mr. Fixer repairs Frigidaire refrigerators, ranges, wall ovens and cooktops, dishwashers, washers and dryers. Most common Frigidaire parts ride on our trucks, which helps us finish many jobs in a single visit.
About Frigidaire appliances
Frigidaire dates to 1918 and was owned by General Motors for decades, which is how the name became shorthand for a refrigerator in many households. Today it belongs to Electrolux, and its lineup runs from basic models to Frigidaire Gallery and Frigidaire Professional. Many Frigidaire appliances share parts and designs with Electrolux-branded models, and Frigidaire has also built appliances for other brands, including some Kenmore models. For owners, that means affordable, widely available parts and a large pool of service experience behind every common repair.

Common Frigidaire problems we fix
Ice maker leaking or not making ice
Frigidaire ice makers are one of our most frequent calls. A frozen fill tube, a failing water valve, a cracked fill cup or ice jammed in the bucket chute are typical causes, and they often show up as water pooling inside the freezer.
Gas oven slow to light or not heating
On many Frigidaire gas ranges, the oven uses a hot-surface igniter that weakens with age. It may still glow but no longer draw enough current to open the gas valve, so the oven heats slowly or not at all.
Refrigerator not cooling after a defrost failure
Frost buildup on the evaporator from a failed defrost heater, sensor or control blocks airflow to the fresh-food section. We check the defrost system first, since it is far more common than a compressor failure.
Dishwasher not draining
Clogs in the filter, the drain pump or the hose connection at the disposal leave water in Frigidaire dishwashers. A new disposal installed without removing its knockout plug is another cause we check.
Front-load washer locked or not spinning
A door lock assembly that fails, a clogged pump filter or worn shocks on Frigidaire front-loaders will stop the spin. We drain the machine safely and test the lock before ordering parts.
Electric range element dead
A burned-out radiant element under a smoothtop, a failed infinite switch or a burned terminal block can kill one burner. We test each one rather than replacing the whole set.
Frigidaire tips from our technicians
- If your Frigidaire gas oven takes much longer than it used to preheat, watch the igniter through the broiler drawer or oven floor vent. A glow with no flame after a minute or two usually means a weak igniter. Turn the oven off and call us rather than trying again and again.
- Check your refrigerator water filter date. A clogged filter slows ice production and dispenser flow before anything actually breaks.
- Keep the area under your Frigidaire fridge clean. Dust on the condenser and fan makes the compressor run longer during hot months.
Frigidaire repair FAQs
Are Frigidaire repairs usually affordable?
Generally, yes. Frigidaire parts are widely made and stocked, so common repairs like igniters, ice makers, door locks and defrost parts are reasonable. We put the full price in writing before starting.
My Frigidaire freezer is full of water under the ice bin. What causes that?
It is usually the ice maker fill system: a frozen fill tube, a valve that drips, or a misaligned fill cup. Turn the ice maker off, empty the bin, and call us so we can find the source.
Do you service Frigidaire Professional appliances?
Yes. We repair the full Frigidaire lineup, including Gallery and Professional refrigerators, ranges and wall ovens.
